Overview

Peech is a next-gen dating app built for a startup aiming to break away from the repetitive swipe culture of traditional dating platforms. Instead of left/right swipes, Peech introduces vertical profile scrolling, offering a fresh, familiar experience inspired by modern social apps like Instagram Reels and TikTok.

Our team at App Ally was responsible for the end-to-end development of the app — from UX research and interface design to cross-platform development and backend integration.

The Challenge

Most dating platforms rely heavily on swipe-based interactions, which often promote surface-level engagement and decision fatigue. The client wanted to create a dating experience that felt more intuitive, genuine, and socially engaging — especially for Gen Z users accustomed to scroll-first content.

Our Solution

We built Peech to mimic the natural flow of social media: vertical, content-first discovery. This approach encourages users to spend more time exploring profiles and making thoughtful decisions. A core feature — also named “Peech” — allows users to express interest and send a direct message early (as a paid feature). If accepted, they can continue chatting without waiting for a mutual match.

• User-First UX: We studied user behavior from top dating and social apps to craft a flow that felt natural and addictive — but meaningful.

• Monetization Strategy: Introduced subtle, high-value paid features that enhance user experience without forcing paywalls.

• Performance Optimization: Leveraged Flutter and Firebase for smooth cross-platform performance, scalability, and real-time capabilities.
